"Pupils develop highly positive attitudes to learning because relationships with staff are strong. Adults encourage pupils to ‘have a go’ and reinforce the message that they should work without fear of failure. Consequently, pupils willingly try new things, confident that their teachers and learning support assistants will help them if they go wrong or get stuck."

Faith Ambassadors

Leading by Example, Living the Gospel

At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, our Faith Ambassadors play a vital role in nurturing the spiritual life of our school. These pupils are chosen for their commitment to our Catholic values and their desire to lead others in faith, prayer, and service.

Faith Ambassadors are role models who help to bring our mission—“In the Light of Jesus, we Learn to Shine”—to life in practical and meaningful ways.

What Do Faith Ambassadors Do?

Faith Ambassadors support the Catholic life of the school by:

  • Leading and preparing class and whole-school liturgies
  • Supporting collective worship and prayer times
  • Helping to maintain and care for prayer areas and sacred spaces
  • Promoting Gospel values through words and actions
  • Welcoming visitors and supporting special religious events
  • Encouraging others to live out their faith in everyday life

They work closely with staff and the wider school community to ensure that our Catholic identity is visible, vibrant, and inclusive.

Why It Matters

Being a Faith Ambassador helps children to:

  • Grow in confidence and leadership
  • Deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith
  • Develop a sense of responsibility and service
  • Inspire others through example and encouragement

It is a role of great honour and purpose, and one that reflects our commitment to forming young people who are spiritually aware, compassionate, and active in their faith.

Chosen to Shine

Faith Ambassadors are selected from Key Stage 2 pupils who demonstrate a strong sense of faith, kindness, and a willingness to serve. They receive guidance and training to help them fulfil their role and are celebrated as leaders within our school community.
